Position Summary: Under supervision of the In Room Dining Manager / Supervisor, courteously and efficiently answer In Room Dining phones, take and input guest orders, ensure receipt of orders by servers and settle checks in the system according to hotel specifications. Process payment of guest checks in accordance with accounting requirements and maintain accountabilities for all the financial transactions. Maintain and contribute to a positive work environment. Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay for this position is $6.52 plus service charges. Qualifications: • High school diploma required; some college preferred. • Previous In-Room Dining cashiering and order-taking experience preferred. • Certification or previous training in liquor, wine, and computer systems preferred. • Prior computer experience required. • Ability to speak a foreign language preferred. • Certification in an alcohol awareness program preferred. Expectations & Responsibilities: • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of daily scheduled activities, in-house groups, daily house count, and the hours of operation for each outlet. • Demonstrate full knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available through In-Room Dining. • Maintain detailed knowledge of all menu items, including preparation methods, ingredients, sauces, preparation times, garnishes, presentation, and pricing. • Set up, organize, and maintain a clean and orderly workstation at all times. • Adhere to and support the service commitment and core values. • Knowledge of local activities and attractions relevant to hotel guests. • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English with guests, management, and co-workers. • Ability to produce clear, legible written communication. • Ability to input and retrieve information using the Micros system and perform basic mathematical calculations. • Ability to maintain focus, think clearly in a noisy environment, and resolve numerical problems. • Ability to maintain guest confidentiality and engage in suggestive selling of menu items. • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with guests and staff. • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with minimal supervision. • All other duties, as assigned. Essential Physical Requirements: • Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements. • Must be able to lift minimum weight of 20 lbs. across short-medium distances. • Must be able to stand and sit as needed throughout the entirety of shift, while bending, stooping and reaching.
