Working in the front of the house (the dining room), the Server answers questions about the menu, takes food and drink orders, delivering the meal and removing dinnerware from the table in a timely manner. The Server is also responsible for the preset and continued cleanliness of the dining room and service areas. Essential Functions Before, Between and After Dining Hours * Ensure dining room and service area is cleaned per procedure and free of debris * Ensure ample supply of flatware is clean and placed according to expectations * Review the days menu and speak with chef/sous chefs regarding interesting information regarding foods offered * Know the residents diets and likes and dislikes * Ensure the dishes and dish area are cleaned During Dining Hours * Welcome and greet residents and guests * Communicate daily specials and any menu changes * Take food and beverage orders from residents and guests, and communicate their order to the chef/sous chef for preparation * Monitor resident and guest dining experience to ensure we have exceeded their expectations Successful Behavioral Attributes at Oxford Senior Living * Humility: Share credit, emphasize team, and define success collectively rather than individually * Positive Attitude: Display a can-do attitude focused on providing solutions * Initiative: Action-oriented commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of the business * Emotional Intelligence: Serve the community by placing the needs of the community team members and residents ahead of your own Minimum Qualifications * Previous experience in a customer service related role Preferred Qualifications * Experience working in a food service environment, preferably as a server or host * Experience working in a senior living community Physical Working Requirements * Able to do occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds * Repetitive walking, bending, and squatting * Able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and/or weekends * Team Member is subject to outside environment conditions occasionally, inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change

Responsibilities

The Server manages the dining experience for residents and guests by taking orders and delivering meals in a timely manner. They are also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room and service areas.
