JOB SUMMARY:

Bar Piquette is seeking a dynamic and versatile professional to join our team as a Floor server. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in our daily success. You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to guests. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, and energetic environment, possesses excellent leadership skills, and has a deep knowledge of wines. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to expertly recommend wines based on guest preferences.
  • Strong knowledge of various wine varieties and regions.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Availability to work during opening hours, including weekends and holidays.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-4 years of FOH experience.
  • WSET Certification as a Sommelier is an asset.
  • Smart Serve certification is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods while working.
  • Capable of lifting wine boxes when necessary (approx. 15lbs).

As Server :

  • Quality Customer Service: Provide professional, warm, and attentive service, meeting the needs and expectations of our customers. Our commitment to quality service is fundamental to creating an unforgettable experience.
  • In-depth Wine Knowledge: Share your passion and expertise on our wine selection, guide customers based on their preferences, and recommend wine and food pairings to enhance their gastronomic experience.
  • Upselling: Identify opportunities for upselling by proactively presenting complementary options, such as special wine selections, appetizers, or desserts, to offer a more comprehensive experience to our customers.
  • Proactive Recommendations: Propose wine and shared plate suggestions based on customer preferences, demonstrating your expertise and contributing to a personalized experience.
  • Effective Table Management: Optimize table turnover to maximize bar capacity while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. Efficient and prompt service is essential for a seamless experience.
  • Preparation and Service of Shared Plates: Contribute to the preparation and service of delicious shared plates, ensuring that each dish reflects the quality and distinctive style of our establishment.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness: Uphold cleanliness in service areas, tables, and the bar area to provide a welcoming and hygienic environment, reinforcing our commitment to quality.
  • Accurate Order Management: Take orders accurately, enter information into the POS system, and coordinate effectively with the kitchen to ensure smooth service while preserving the quality of dishes.

As Sommelier:

  • Guide guests in selecting wines based on preferences and pairings.
  • Curate and manage our diverse wine selection, keeping it up-to-date and aligned with the latest trends in collaboration of the lead sommelier.
  • Lead wine education initiatives for staff and customers.
  • Stay informed about market trends, customer feedback, and competition to continuously improve our offerings and customer experience.
