Are you passionate about the Marine industry and eager to drive growth through innovative Lifecycle Services? We are looking for a motivated Service Account Manager (m/f) to join our EMEA Marine team and take our service offering to the next level. The role is located in Gorinchem, with flexible hybrid working options.
At Danfoss Drives, we are driving the maritime industry’s shift toward hybrid and fully electric propulsion by delivering advanced, customized drive solutions to reduce emissions and make shipping operations more sustainable. The initial sales of our projects in the Marine business are just the starting point of the Lifecycle Service journey. From ensuring system uptime and preventive maintenance to overhauls and retrofits, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our Marine customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their drive systems to meet the increasing industry demands for predictability, efficiency, and operational continuity.

BACKGROUND & SKILLS

  • A technical background with a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in customer-facing commercial roles, preferably within a technical or industrial environment
  • Experience in selling Lifecycle Services (e.g. spare parts, maintenance, overhauls, retrofits) is a strong plus
  • Solid understanding of the Marine industry and its key stakeholders is highly desirable
  • Passion for driving value through service and innovation in the Marine sector
  • Proactive and collaborative work style with a hands-on, strategic mindset
  • Solid communication and influencing skills in English (both written and verbal), other languages are a plus
  • Willingness to travel (approx. 25%)

Responsibilities

As Service Account Manager (m/f), you will take full ownership of the end-to-end sales process for our Lifecycle Services in the Marine segment within EMEA (including the Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Denmark, and other countries). With a strong focus on customer engagement and strategic business development, you’ll work closely with internal teams to deliver high-impact service solutions that fit their unique operational service needs and drive long-term value for our end customers. The dynamic nature of this position combines hands-on customer interaction, collaboration across internal teams, and the opportunity to develop new businesses with a high degree of autonomy.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Manage and grow relationships with key stakeholders such as shipowners, ship operators, and repair yards involved in overhaul projects with drives
  • Identify and drive strategic Lifecycle Service initiatives in alignment with the EMEA Marine Sales strategy
  • Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through proactive customer engagement, actively managing both push (service promotion) and pull (customer demand) activities, and structured follow-up
  • Ensuring a seamless and high-quality customer experience through close collaboration with the EMEA Marine Sales team, ensuring clarity, responsiveness, and high-quality service interactions
  • Acting as the Lifecycle ambassador within the team, sharing best practices and inspiring your colleagues to leverage Lifecycle service opportunities
  • Translate market trends and customer needs into enhanced or new service offerings
  • Continuously evaluating the service portfolio and service delivery quality, identifying areas for improvement and recommending enhancements to support business growth and customer satisfaction
