General responsibilities are as follows: Customer Communication: Greet customers, listen to their vehicle issues, and explain necessary repairs and maintenance in clear, non-technical terms. Service Coordination: Schedule appointments, process repair orders, and manage the flow of work between customers and technicians. Estimates and Approval: Provide cost estimates for repairs, advise customers on alternative solutions, and obtain their approval for all work. Technical Liaison: Convey customer problems accurately to technicians and then explain the technicians' findings back to the customer. Customer Satisfaction: Ensure customers have a positive experience by providing excellent follow-up and resolving any issues or complaints professionally. Administrative Tasks: Handle paperwork related to repairs, maintain customer records, and process payments. Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent is generally required, though some positions may prefer or require a bachelor's degree or extensive service advising experience. Automotive Knowledge - A solid understanding of automotive mechanics, parts, and common repair issues is crucial.
