JOB SUMMARY The Service Advisor acts as the primary liaison between customers and the service department. This role is responsible for understanding customer needs, coordinating vehicle or equipment service and repairs, communicating technical information in a clear and professional manner, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction throughout the service process. ---------------------------------------- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Greet customers promptly and courteously, ensuring a positive first impression. * Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle/equipment symptoms, service requests, and history. * Prepare and present repair orders and estimates; obtain proper customer authorization. * Communicate with technicians to determine the cause of issues and the necessary repairs. * Provide regular updates to customers on repair status, costs, and completion timelines. * Review completed work with customers, explaining the services performed and any future maintenance needs. * Ensure all repairs and services are completed to company and manufacturer standards. * Manage warranty claims, service contracts, and payment processing as required. * Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service area. * Support team goals and contribute to a positive work environment. ---------------------------------------- QUALIFICATIONS * High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. * Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in a customer service role (automotive, mechanical, or dealership environment strongly preferred). * Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. * Technical aptitude and understanding of vehicle systems or mechanical processes. * Proficiency with service management software (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack) and Microsoft Office. * Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. * Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. ---------------------------------------- CORE COMPETENCIES * Customer-focused mindset * Attention to detail * Team collaboration * Time management * Professional communication * Sales and upselling ability ---------------------------------------- WORKING CONDITIONS * Full-time position; may include Saturdays or extended hours. * Primarily office and service drive environment; occasional exposure to noise, fumes, and outdoor conditions.
