Key Accountabilities:

  • Customer Service & Front-of-House Duties
  • Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner, both in person and over the phone.
  • Accurately log vehicle issues and requirements, ensuring all customer concerns are clearly documented.
  • Provide updates to customers regarding repair progress, costs, and timescales.
  • Sales & Upselling
  • Promote additional services such as MOTs, vehicle servicing, diagnostics, tyres, extended payment terms to help spread costs.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell value-added services (e.g., air con re-gas & diagnostics, wheel alignment, brake fluid changes, fuel & emissions additives, basic servicing to prestige servicing and relevant manufacturer service up-grades.
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales targets set by the company.
  • Job Booking & Workshop Coordination
  • Schedule work efficiently to maximise workshop capacity.
  • Liaise with technicians to ensure smooth workflow and accurate time estimates.
  • Ensure parts are ordered promptly and job cards are completed correctly.
  • Ensure unused parts are returned to supplier quickly following correct processes.
  • Invoicing & Payment Handling
  • Generate accurate invoices for work completed.
  • Process customer payments and manage any outstanding balances or payment plans (e.g. Bumper, Payment Assist).
  • Warranty & Claims Handling
  • Prepare and submit warranty claims, especially RAC Warranty, with clear case studies and supporting evidence.
  • Liaise with warranty companies to secure approvals and ensure repair costs are covered where applicable.
  • Administrative Duties
  • Maintain customer records and update job tracking systems.
  • Follow up on customer enquiries, estimates, and future bookings.
  • Telephone existing and new customers to book up and coming MOTs and servicing.
  • Actively engage in company social media posts / and help create content on a weekly basis.
  • Customer Retention & Loyalty
  • Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction.
  • Encourage repeat business through excellent service and trust-building.
  • Compliance & Quality Standards
  • Ensure all work and recommendations are in line with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Adhere to RAC Approved Garage guidelines and documentation.

Requirements:
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a garage or automotive environment
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks effectively
· Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and other software applications
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
· Positive attitude, friendly demeanour, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service
· Ability to work in a sales-focused environment and meet target.
