Deerwood Country Club is seeking a Service Captain to lead and support our front-of-house team during daily dining service and special events. This role ensures seamless execution, exceptional hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests.
We’re looking for someone with a passion for hospitality, strong leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail. This position is eligible to participate in the gratuity pool, offering additional earning potential.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years in the food industry, preferably as a banquet captain, or lead server in a high-volume operation.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of health department regulations and liquor laws.
  • Proficient in using computers and relevant software.
  • Commitment to following the Club’s safety protocols.
  • Food handler certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Deerwood Country Club is a community steeped in local history and pivotal to the development of Jacksonville. DCC features a 25,000-square foot clubhouse with dining and banquet facilities, an 18-hole championship golf course, twelve Har-Tru tennis courts, four pickleball courts and an award-winning tennis program. Responsibilities
  • Provide warm, professional service to members, guests, and staff.
  • Oversee daily dining and banquet operations, ensuring top-tier service and satisfaction.
  • Lead pre-event setups, staff briefings, and coordinate service execution.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar teams to maintain smooth service flow.
  • Monitor service quality and proactively address guest needs.
  • Assist staff, direct traffic, and resolve service or food-related issues promptly.
  • Supervise post-event breakdown and ensure proper storage and sanitation.
  • Attend BEO meetings and contribute to post-event evaluations.
  • Uphold safety and sanitation standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
