Description

OMICRON is a leading manufactuerer of primary and secondary test equipment for electric power systems. The Service Center Technician supports both our customer’s test equipment as well as our demo equipment. The preferred location for this position is Mexico City. This position will report to the National Sales Manager for Mexico.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Understanding of electronics repair and maintenance principles.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing equipment, calibration techniques, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical, hardware, and software failures.
  • Competency in performing calibrations and verifying equipment performance.
  • Proficiency in disassembling, repairing, and reassembling electronic devices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to accurately document repairs, maintenance activities, and test results.
  • Capability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic software, inventory management systems, and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, ERP systems).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures accurately.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving industry standards.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Languages: Spanish fluently required; English at least proficiently

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in electronics repair, maintenance, or a related technical field.
  • Comparable military experience or equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of electrical testing equipment and calibration procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Basic proficiency in using computers and diagnostic software.
  • Effective communication skills for customer interaction and technical reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • An associate degree from an accredited school, or vocational school, in Electronics or Electrical Engineer is required or equivalent work experience.
