Responsibilities

A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE

Ballymena & Little Steps Sure Start provides a range of health, play & learning and parenting support services to children, from pre-birth up to four years, and their families. The project comprises a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team and works in close partnership with a range of local Statutory, Voluntary and Community service providers to promote effective service delivery in response to the needs of the expectant parents, children and families across the designated SureStart areas.
As the Service Coordinator, you’ll lead, manage, and inspire our Family Support Team to provide impactful support that transforms children’s lives. You’ll play a crucial role in developing Parenting Support services within the Sure Start provision, spanning three locations in Ballymena and Antrim. Additionally, you’ll be the key person in charge at one of our sites, ensuring high standards in health and safety, property management and case with a strong focus on safeguarding requirements and childcare legislation.

Some key responsibilities of a Service Coordinator role are;

  • Providing a high-quality service to children on an assessment of need and outcomes.
  • Taking responsibility for the delivery of quality services, including operational and strategic planning and deployment of resources and to work with commissioners and other external bodies.
  • Providing direct and line management of staff, applying appropriate policies and procedures, also sharing knowledge and experience through coaching and mentoring techniques.
  • Delivering a safe and positive work and service environment through compliance with all safeguarding, safer recruitment, health and safety policy and procedure
