What you’ll work across (our services) Professional Services – Enablement (fixed‑price projects) Managed Services – Security & CMMC Compliance for Microsoft cloud and on‑premises systems Microsoft GCC High Licensing (secure onboarding & lifecycle operations) Complementary Partner Services (co‑delivered with strategic partners) Job Description Agile IT is looking for a Service Delivery Manager to lead the implementation of critical fixed-price projects that enable our government and defense contractor clients to modernize in the Microsoft Cloud. These projects – often centered on Azure Government migrations, GCC High tenant deployments, and security enablement – are at the core of our mission to combine cloud innovation with rigorous compliance. In this role, you will ensure complex cloud initiatives are executed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards (think CMMC Level 2 and beyond). You’ll be orchestrating project teams, managing risks, and keeping stakeholders in the loop from kickoff to closeout. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution: Plan, resource, and manage end-to-end delivery of fixed-price cloud enablement projects in Azure Government/GCC High. Develop project plans and schedules, align the right engineers/consultants, and track progress using project management tools to ensure milestones are met. Scope & Quality Management: Ensure project scope and deliverables are clearly defined and agreed upon. Enforce SOW (Statement of Work) clarity, acceptance criteria, and readiness checklists before each phase. Proactively manage change orders and avoid scope creep, while maintaining a keen eye on quality standards and regulatory requirements. Risk, Issue, and Change Control: Take charge of RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions) logs and change control processes. Anticipate potential roadblocks or compliance hurdles (security, data residency, etc.) early, and coordinate mitigation plans. You will be the central point for resolving issues – from technical challenges to timeline adjustments – in a controlled, transparent manner. Compliance Coordination: Work closely with our cybersecurity and compliance teams to incorporate required security controls and evidence-gathering into the project plan. For projects involving CMMC compliance or GCC High, coordinate the collection of documentation (SSP, security artifacts) and ensure deliverables meet the necessary compliance criteria for client audits. Financial Oversight: Monitor project financials, keeping a tight handle on burn vs. budget. Maintain a project margin dashboard and provide early warnings if the estimated costs (EAC) start to diverge from the plan. You’ll be responsible for hitting profitability targets on your projects by controlling costs, managing vendor expenses, and avoiding surprise overages. Stakeholder Communication & Escalation: Provide regular status updates to client and internal stakeholders, including executive-level summaries on project health. Manage customer expectations through weekly status meetings and formal reports. If issues escalate, you handle them with professionalism and urgency – coordinating resources to get things back on track and keeping the client’s trust intact. Project Closure & Handoff: Ensure smooth project closure, including final documentation, lessons learned, and a seamless transition of the client into steady-state support or the next phase. You’ll verify all acceptance criteria are met, customers are satisfied, and any follow-up actions (like internal knowledge transfer or support handoff) are completed. Qualifications Qualifications Experience: 5+ years of project management experience in IT consulting, cloud services, or a related field. Demonstrable success managing complex IT infrastructure or cloud deployment projects – bonus points if these were for public sector or highly-regulated environments. Project Management Skills: Strong grasp of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, or hybrid approaches) and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, or similar). PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications are advantageous, but a track record of delivering results on schedule is most important. Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. Familiarity with Azure Government and GCC High environments is highly preferred. You don’t need to be an engineer, but you should be comfortable discussing cloud architectures, migrations, and security controls with technical teams and clients. Compliance & Security Awareness: Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as CMMC, NIST 800-171, or DFARS is a big plus. You understand why certain security requirements exist and can incorporate those needs into project plans (for example, handling controlled unclassified information in GCC High). Communication & Leadership: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage client relationships. You can distill complex project status into executive-friendly updates and are not afraid to have tough conversations when needed (scope changes, delays, etc.), always maintaining a solution-oriented approach. Organized & Detail-Oriented: You sweat the details – whether it’s double-checking that every task is accounted for or that every risk has an owner. Documentation is your friend. At the same time, you can balance details with the big picture to ensure the project’s overall objectives are achieved. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Project Management or related field is preferred, not required. What we truly value is hands-on project leadership in similar roles. Security clearance eligibility or experience working with US government clients is a plus given the nature of our projects.
