ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of IT – Multiclass Sustainment (MCS), the Senior Project Manager plays a key role within ASC’s MCS IT team, leading the delivery of large and complex projects or multiple small to mid-sized initiatives. These projects form part of ASC’s MCS ICT portfolio and are critical to achieving MCS objectives.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing and delivering ICT projects that drive meaningful MCS Program change. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget, while effectively managing risks and engaging stakeholders across the organisation.

Working cross-functionally, you will collaborate with executives, business stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors and partners to support successful project outcomes. You will also contribute to a culture of collaboration, best practice and accountability, helping to drive modern, technology-enabled transformation across ASC’s systems and processes.

This is a full-time opportunity based at Osborne site in South Australia or Henderson in Western Australia.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead and support the delivery of ICT initiatives across ASC’s MCS ICT portfolio, including:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of transformation projects and programs, ensuring alignment to ASC’s MCS ICT portfolio objectives and successful program outcomes.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget and resources to deliver projects on time and within agreed parameters.
  • Establish and maintain strong governance frameworks, including reporting to MCS and S&TO leadership.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate project risks, issues and dependencies across complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including executives, business teams, technical specialists and external vendors and partners.
  • Contribute to the uplift of ASC’s project delivery capability, supporting the organisation’s transition to a multi-program, nuclear-capable environment.
  • Provide guidance and advice on transformation and project delivery, supporting consistent application of best practice across the business.
  • Support Program Management Office (PMO) activities, including portfolio coordination, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
