[https://people.downergroup.co.nz/downer-benefits/]   The Opportunity | Te kōwhiringa In this highly collaborative and field-oriented position, you’ll spend time embedded with operational teams across New Zealand and Australia—observing workflows, understanding challenges, and working hands-on with users. You will then bring these insights back to our digital teams to co-design and deliver solutions that enhance performance, uplift user experience, and support the wider T&I digital strategy. You’ll act as a bridge between our operations, platform teams, architects, and analysts—ensuring we deliver digital capabilities that are both technically robust and genuinely helpful for the people who rely on them every day. Key responsibilities: Field Engagement & User Collaboration * Work alongside supervisors, operational leaders, and frontline teams to understand day‑to‑day workflows. * Build trusted relationships to ensure digital solutions reflect real operational needs. * Validate requirements and co-design practical solutions with Digital Service Improvement Analysts. Solution Design & Technical Enablement * Translate user needs into technical specifications and solution designs. * Develop digital tools, integrations, and platform enhancements that improve efficiency and performance. * Align solutions to enterprise architecture, standards, and technology strategies. Platform Enhancement & Integration * Support enhancement of operational systems, applications, and data platforms. * Identify and support integration opportunities across tools and platforms. * Collaborate with developers, architects, and platform owners to deliver scalable digital outcomes. Technical Support & Implementation * Assist frontline teams with adoption of new digital capabilities. * Troubleshoot technical issues and support rollout activities. * Create documentation, training material, and support guides. Continuous Improvement & Innovation * Recommend improvements based on field feedback and digital insights. * Contribute to ongoing optimisation of platform performance and user experience. * Stay up to date on emerging digital technologies to enhance our capability. Important Skills | Nga pūkenga matua  Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. * Experience in solution design, digital development, technical analysis, or application development. * Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions. * Experience working with field-based or operational teams. * Understanding of platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, GIS systems (ideal but not essential). * Experience supporting digital tool implementation in operational environments. Knowledge & Competencies * Strong understanding of digital platform ecosystems, integrations, and modern development practices. * Problem-solving capability with an analytical mindset. * Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. * Ability to operate effectively across both technical and operational environments. * Adaptability and confidence working in dynamic, real-world field settings.
