REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in core OpenFOAM development
  • Strong knowledge of CFD simulation using OpenFOAM, ideally in industrial settings
  • Proficient in C++ (intermediate to advanced level)
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a structured approach to work
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with solver development (e.g. segregated and coupled solvers)
  • Background in physics modeling (e.g. heat transfer, combustion, radiation)
  • Familiarity with meshing concepts, computer architecture, and high-performance computing (HPC), including parallelism and GPU acceleration

Responsibilities

As an OpenFOAM Developer, you will play a key role in enhancing and extending the capabilities of OpenFOAM for industrial applications. You will collaborate closely with both internal development teams and customers to ensure the delivery of high-quality, high-performance solutions for complex computational fluid dynamics (CFD) challenges.
This role combines deep technical expertise with strong communication and problem-solving skills, enabling you to contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle while directly supporting users in applying OpenFOAM to real-world engineering problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to define new OpenFOAM development needs
  • Design, implement, and test new and enhanced OpenFOAM functionalities
  • Simplify complex CFD problems into reproducible and maintainable processes
  • Provide high-quality technical support to customers using OpenFOAM in their workflows
  • Work closely with the OpenFOAM Service Teams to ensure seamless integration and support
  • Contribute to the global OpenFOAM community and uphold best practices in open-source development
