Key Responsibilities
Engine Maintenance & Repair:
Inspect, diagnose, and perform repairs, maintenance, and reconditioning of 2-stroke and 4-stroke main and auxiliary engines, crankshafts, and camshafts.
Conduct installation and removal work on board vessels and in workshops.
Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on 2-stroke engines and associated equipment.
Project Management:
Plan, organize, and lead repair and maintenance jobs, including delegating tasks to team members.
Take measurements and readings to develop repair plans, estimate time, and identify required parts and materials.
Coordinate with internal departments and third parties (e.g., Class societies, shipowners).
Customer & Stakeholder Interaction:
Interact with customers during work execution and provide technical advice.
Communicate effectively with ship owners, agents, and internal departments on job status and technical issues.
Reporting & Documentation:
Create detailed service reports, including before and after images.
Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
Manage timesheets and submit daily reports.
Safety & Quality Assurance:
Ensure all work adheres to Wärtsilä’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) guidelines and customer procedures.
Hold daily tool-box meetings to emphasize safe work practices.
Team Leadership & Training:
Lead and manage on-site teams during work execution.
Mentor and develop junior technicians’ skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Marine, or related Engineering fields.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in engine overhaul or marine engine maintenance, preferably in the 2-stroke engine industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and diesel components. Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot electrical faults is often required.
Soft Skills: Strong written and spoken communication skills in English are essential. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time.
Other: Willingness to travel abroad for assignments on short notice.

Pay: $4,000.00 - $4,500.00 per month
