Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Service Engineer to take the lead in maintaining and managing our large hire fleet. This is a hands-on, varied role that comes with a high level of ownership and responsibility.
Yes, there’s plenty of hands-on, outdoor work, but you’ll be the key engineer making sure our equipment is always safe, reliable, and ready to go when our clients need it. You’ll lead on servicing, diagnostics, and repairs, and play a crucial part in supporting clients and representing the company.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Servicing industrial vacuum equipment including diesel engines, electrical fault-finding, and mechanical repairs
  • Liaising with the Hire Controller to ensure that clients get the right equipment when they want it and managing your workload accordingly
  • Completing service report paperwork
  • Inspecting, preparing and power washing hire equipment (it’s physical and outdoors)
  • Loading/unloading equipment using forklift trucks
  • Assisting our manufacturing team with fabrication, machining, paint spraying, shot blasting and using power tools as needed
  • Occasional site visits or call-outs to troubleshoot or support clients
  • Supporting clients over the phone with troubleshooting and advice
  • Mentoring apprentices and sharing your knowledge
