Description

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Technical qualification with experience in general engineering, electronics, mechanics and calibration.
  • Ideally you will be a field-based Service Engineer with experience of using workshop tools however, candidates who can demonstrate strong transferable skills such as mechanics, electricians and those that operate in technology will be considered as full training is offered.
  • Using various strategies and tools to provide effective solutions to customers’ concerns. Excellent active listening and customer service skills. Promptly following up on service requests and providing customer feedback.
  • Communicating with customers, colleagues, and other technicians to ensure that services are delivered effectively.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team with the ability to deal with multiple requests and remain professional under pressure.
  • Superb work ethic and a growth mindset.
  • Able to travel when required to the manufacturers for training, some of which are based in the EU, USA and Canada.
  • Basic computer skills.
Responsibilities
  • Repairing faults, servicing/calibrating equipment both in house and in the field, offering telephone support and occasionally working away from home in the UK and Ireland. There may be some travel requirements on an international basis too.
  • Using various strategies and tools to provide effective solutions to customers’ concerns you will communicate with customers, colleagues and other technicians to ensure that services are delivered effectively.

  • Promptly following up on service requests and providing customer feedback.

  • Monitoring equipment and machinery.
  • Conducting quality assurance and safety checks on all equipment.
  • Providing recommendations about new features and product improvements.
  • Attending workshops to remain abreast of industry developments.
  • Completing service reports and presenting findings to Managers on a regular basis and completing reports to Managers.
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and calibration traceable to national standards to the ISO 17025 standard.
