As a Service Engineer you will, after training, work on equipment, designed and installed by VMI Group. You are essential for our customers to get most out of their machines. In this job you will perform inspections and carry out maintenance and calibration work for our customers all over the world. Are you ready to help our customers with trouble shooting, training, and improving the performance of our machines? DEPARTMENT

You will be part of the Technical Service Support (TSS) team and work according to the VMI Global Service vision: “Together with our customers we ensure that VMI solutions have competitive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), maximum reliability and consistent high quality”.
The TSS team is responsible for all VMI equipment after warranty expiration. Because of the growth of our install base, we are looking for a Service Engineer to expand the team.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for someone who is preferably experienced in Service at an International level and is willing to travel internationally. It is preferable if you are experienced with industrial machines, camera systems and systems such as Rockwell / Siemens PLC’s, industrial PCs and Fanuc robotics.

  • Completed Bachelor degree (HBO) or proven ability to work and act at this level. The education should be in the field of Mechatronics or Electrical;
  • Valid driver license;
  • Be accurate in reporting;
  • Analytic mind / stress resistant / acting as an ambassador for VMI / customer oriented / can-do mentality;
  • Flexibility and willingness to be available when customer or VMI needs you;
  • Experienced traveler and willing to travel internationally for a maximum period of 4 weeks consecutively;
  • Electrical / Mechanical / Software skills.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain VMI equipment;
  • Inspect and report the status of the machine;
  • Analyze and help to identify lost time with the goal to improve the performance of our machines;
  • Perform classroom and on the job training for customer personnel (Operators, maintenance staff and process engineers);
  • Help solve acute or lingering problems at the machines, to help our customers get most out of their machines
  • Proactive customer advice for possible service or retrofit options
  • We expect you to keep up to date with R&D developments by training yourself. We are offering a variety of internal and external training courses to help you do this.
  • Willing to travel internationally and be available to participate in our 24/7 remote support schedule
