Mō te tūranga | About the Role This is a pivotal leadership role shaping Westpac’s cyber defence strategy and operational resilience. The Cyber Service Group Owner is a senior leader in cyber security operations, reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). This role leads leaders – providing strategic direction and operational oversight across engineering teams and our Detect and Respond squads. You will define the strategy, set the roadmap, and ensure delivery of critical cyber services that protect the organisation. As a trusted expert, you will leverage deep technical knowledge and experience in cyber security to guide decision-making and shape outcomes. You will work closely with Service Owners and squads to ensure resources are aligned, risks are managed, and services deliver measurable value. This includes championing best practice, mentoring senior cyber professionals, and driving continuous improvement across processes and standards such as ISO27001 and NIST. Success in this role requires strong leadership capability, the ability to influence at senior levels, and a commitment to building high-performing teams that safeguard the organisation’s digital environment.
