Organization: SMF-Sutter Med Foundation- Central Position Overview: The Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Service Line Executive will lead strategic, operational, and clinical functions across all orthopedic and rehab services. This senior leadership role ensures high-quality, patient-centered care across acute, ambulatory, post-acute, and ancillary settings. Key responsibilities include: Strategic Leadership: Aligns service line goals with organizational strategy and Destination 2030. Collaboration: Works closely with medical group leaders, physician partners, and operational teams to drive systemwide initiatives. Culture & Performance: Champions cultural transformation, human-centered design, and continuous improvement. Care Integration: Develops scalable care models with clinical and administrative partners to enhance quality, safety, access, and efficiency. Growth & Innovation: Oversees new program development, facility expansion, and technology planning. Accountability: Responsible for metrics including clinical quality, patient satisfaction, financial performance, access, and workforce engagement. Capital Planning: Manages investments to support strategic growth and financial sustainability. Market Positioning: Shapes long-term strategy to strengthen Sutter Health’s leadership in orthopedic and rehab care. Plans, monitors, integrates, coordinates, and evaluates the operations within their scope of responsibilities within the entity. Functions as a senior member of the entity leadership team in setting overall administrative and strategic direction and ensuring positive medical group relations. Leads cultural change, create a patient-centered, seamless care experience across all service areas. Integrates clinical services with an eye on human-centered design and with key clinical partners, promote employee engagement and continuous improvement through innovation are key areas of focus. Exercises necessary and appropriate authority and accountability for the service line, including quality of care, patient satisfaction, financial goals, and responsible for managing local capital priorities that align with and meet the overall capital expenditures for the entity’s operating budget. SMF is also committed to delivering quality and convenient care to patients through numerous outpatient services including ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic imaging, urgent care, home health, laboratories and physical therapy. Job Description: *** This role is for the Sacramento Division. The ideal candidate will have Ambulatory Strategy and Operations experience in Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Services. *** EDUCATION: Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. Bachelor's: Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field. Master's: MBA Preferred TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 15 years recent relevant experience. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation/public speaking). Skills in leadership, conflict identification and resolution, group problem solving and group process as well as organization and prioritization. Effective as a team leader and team member, with a bias toward timely and appropriate action. Customer service excellence orientation, with emphasis on continuous quality improvement. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled.
