Job Description The role is focused on leading and exercising an active monitoring and control over the service team to ensure that the service meets the requirements. As a Service Manager, you will: interface with ESA Technical Officer for the definition of the tasks to be executed, and regular reports for any potential or identified issue impacting the execution of the service. manage, actively monitor and be responsible for the service continuity at all establishments within the scope of the service ensuring that adequate resources are allocated to the service to ensure the timely completion of tasks, which conform to the Agency's requirements. undertake regular interfacing with the Agency’s contact points, as required, on the tasks, quality of work performed, KPls, any issues, risks, and proposed resolutions. be responsible for the performance of the service and for proposing service improvements based on best practices and feedback from the Agency. be responsible for knowledge management and lessons learned of the service execution. define, produce, and maintain a repository accessible by the ESA representatives with all the procedures and training materials necessary to provide the service. ensure good communication and coordination with all stakeholders and within the service team. Qualifications You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience: Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field Several years of proven experience in managing complex projects/services in the space sector, ideally in the telecoms domain. Strong capability to monitor service continuity, allocate resources, and ensure timely delivery of tasks. Skilled in risk management and proposing effective resolutions. Experience with system engineering, telecommunications, end-to-end encrypted comms systems will be a big advantage. Proactive mindset with a drive for service excellence and innovation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in multicultural or international environments. Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
