The service manager would be responsible for the overall operation of the shop, including customer service, employee management, and would also assist technicians with repairs. If you consider yourself mechanically inclined and also love interacting with people and solving their problems, this could be the position for you! This position would have other responsibilities such as: Schedule work in and out of shop. Assists with hiring RV technicians, apprentices, service advisors, and detail crew. Supervises and directs all RV technicians, apprentices, service advisors, and detail crew. Ensure that all parts, tools and time are available for technicians to complete the work. Responsible for a safe and clean work environment. Ensure that all technicians, regardless of experience, receive training and upgrading. May assist in warranty liaison with manufacturers. Provide estimates and quote repair work. Track technician productivity. Responsible for ensuring the profitable operation of the service department at maximum production while controlling costs, building a loyal clientele, maintaining good employee relationships, setting and maintaining sales and profit objectives, and maintaining service records. Ensures a balance between efficiency, labor rates and expenses. Directs service writers as to which technicians do which jobs. Clarify and attempt to correct reasonable customer issues. Maintain a neat and clean shop. Holds and directs monthly service department employee meetings. Requirements The ideal candidate would have experience working in an auto shop or related field, have excellent customer service and supervisory skills, and be able to handle multiple tasks at a time. Excellent leadership skills are required, along with a pleasant attitude setting the example for others in their department. This is a manual labor position and the applicant must be able to push/pull/lift up to 75 pounds. Working alongside your employees is also required, along with working in extreme weather conditions. Saturday availability is required.
