Description

All Type Electric Inc. (ATE) is searching for a service manager with strong business development skills to grow our Edmonton Service department, that is focused on light industrial, commercial and aggregate sectors. The ideal candidate will oversee the daily operations of the service department, leverage the technically strong field staff, and use their business development skills to source new clients and / or new sectors requiring electrical repair and maintenance work.
The service manager plays an integral role in maintaining existing client relationships and developing new clients for hourly reimbursable and small quoted projects. This position involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers and other team members to ensure work is completed to the satisfaction of the client and Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) requirements and following appropriate safety protocols.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Responsible for Service segment P&L and maintaining profitability.
  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the service department, such as scheduling of technicians for service calls and projects.
  • Responsible for driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and developing strategies to increase revenue.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the team of service electricians by supporting them with estimates, technical support and answering questions about client needs.
  • Prepare detailed estimates and proposals for electrical repairs, upgrades and installations as requested by clients.
  • Recommend and promote maintenance programs, inspections, testing, thermal scans to existing and new clients.
  • Enforce ATE’s safety program guidelines. Ensure ATE employees are following clients safety requirements.
  • Ensure the completion of work orders and auditing for quality and consistency, work completed details.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Effective and open communication with other ATE project managers for the sharing and scheduling of manpower.
  • Assists with the recruitment and interviewing of additional service technicians and apprentices.

The positions require the following qualifications:

  • A valid Alberta Journeyperson Certificate and / or Inter Provincial designation.
  • A valid drivers license.
  • Minimum 5 years as an electrical service technician, site supervisor, project manager.
  • Proficient computer skills for use of ERP software (Viewpoint Spectrum), Microsoft programs and Accubid estimating software.
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field, with a demonstrated record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
  • Strong leadership, communication skills in working with internal and external teams and people.
