Job Description Due to continued growth and increasing demand for our services, we are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our Service operations for Southwest, WA, based in Canning Vale, WA. As our customers expand their operations, so does the need for reliable service support. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader to join a growing team and play a key role in delivering safe, efficient and high-quality service outcomes. The Service Manager is responsible for providing leadership and directing all operational field activities and resources in order to assist the Company in the achievement of agreed revenue, growth, profit and operational objectives. This includes maintaining responsibility for safety, customer satisfaction, operationally derived quoting/estimating, labour and resource planning, field operative productivity, material requisition/preparation, vehicle equipment management, service request execution and project management. Day to day, the Service Manager will: Responsibilities Direct the Service team in achieving desired outcomes and operational effectiveness, through daily activities, liaison with various departments and continuous improvement methodologies Continuously monitor key service metrics including profitability and productivity. Ensure that Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times by coaching team members, discussing safety items and practicing safe work behaviours. Help plan and facilitate monthly service toolbox meetings with completion of minutes, attendance records, action plans and follow ups. Identify the skills and knowledge required by the staff to perform their assigned tasks and provide appropriate training opportunities to acquire these. Maintain responsibility for all aspects of daily operations by supporting team members (Service planners, Inspectors and Technicians) to effectively respond to service calls, inspections and repair requests. Help plan field labour hours with the Admin/Planner to maximize profitability and productivity (95%) Maintain strong relationships with our Major Client and suppliers, through regular customer visits/ service reviews to retain loyalty with Konecranes and Demag products & services. Review margin/performance of service jobs to ensure accurate execution within estimated labour hours and costs etc. Analyse and report to management any significant deviations from original job plans or scope of work changes. Ensure all Operatives perform Safety and Visit reviews. Resolve customer complaints, within established guidelines. Issues that cannot be resolved need to be escalated to the next level manager for attention. Oversee larger repairs and projects to ensure successful completion. Review and approve technicians’ time in siebel as submitted daily ensuring times submitted are accurate and can be allocated to the correct job numbers. Coordinate the repair and maintenance of company equipment (including motor vehicles) and assets to ensure they are in proper condition and good working order. Oversee weekly invoicing activities to ensure company sales targets are met Ensure on-call and 24-hour response is available or negotiate other agreeable actions with customers. Work closely with all sales functions including account managers, inside sales and the modernization specialist to get the required spinoff. Awareness of ISO 14001 & 45001 Standards Accountabilities Safety – All toolbox meetings are recorded with agenda, meeting minutes and attendance records saved in accordance with Konecranes and Demag procedures. Ensure all field operatives complete POWRA and are recording Safety Observations and Near Misses as identified. Ensure that field operatives are completing the Safety and Visit Reviews. Ensure productivity is maintained. Review with Branch Manager unresolved billing, credit, warranty and goodwill issues and customer complaints. Follow all established safety rules and procedures, including those established by the customer. Qualifications We are looking for a strong operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced service and field operations environment. The successful candidate will possess the following skills, qualifications and experience: Trade-qualified as an Electrician or Mechanical Fitter or hold a tertiary qualification in Business Management or equivalent Proven experience in a Service Manager, Operations Manager or Field Service leadership role Experience managing technicians or field service teams Strong leadership and people management skills Experience managing service operations, scheduling and productivity Ability to build strong customer relationships Strong safety leadership and compliance mindset Financial awareness including job costing, margins and operational performance Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Knowledge of Konecranes and Demag Service Products or an interest to learn. Experience in industrial maintenance, lifting equipment, cranes, manufacturing or heavy industry will be highly regarded.
