Description
Description We are seeking an experienced general manager to lead our trailer repair and maintenance shop. The ideal candidate will have proven past success overseeing all aspects of a commercial mechanical repair shop, leading a team of technicians and administrative staff. This leader would be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, quality control, and customer service. Key Responsibilities: Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment in the shop and office. Act as a liaison, effectively communicating between shop personnel, administrators, and customers. Manage technician workflow to ensure efficient operations. Understand product and service offerings and advise customers on enhanced options. Evaluate, prepare, and present quotes and work orders. Manage stock, tracking, ordering, and securing parts inventory. Perform personnel scheduling for all shop team members. Drive timely preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles through coordination with operators. Co-develop, administer, and monitor a safety program exceeding OSHA standard. Ensure personnel certifications are up to date and training requirements are met. Accountable for the financial success of the shop, regularly evaluating P&L reports and taking appropriate actions. Coordinate with sales team to develop growth plan. Requirements 2+ years of leadership experience in a shop environment. Knowledge of Class 8 commercial vehicles. Must be able to inspect work, perform quality checks, and effectively explain issues and corrective actions to customers. Strong understanding of DOT, OSHA, and FMCSA regulations. Experience with shop and maintenance software. Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus). Microsoft Office Working Conditions: Shop, office and yard environment; may be exposed to dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures. Requires standing, lifting (up to 75 lbs), bending
