Description

Reliable Equipment Rentals Ltd. provides aerial equipment rentals and services to valued customers throughout southwestern British Columbia.
We are looking for an experienced Service Manager to oversee Boom Shop, Scissor Shop and Paint Shop day-to-day operations. The Service Managers oversees all Service staff members and ensures all staff members have what they need to do their job safely and effectively. The role also collaborates with other department managers to provide excellent customer service.

$120,000.00 TO $140,000.00 PER YEAR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven leadership experience in a diverse and fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of heavy-duty equipment/machine
  • Excellent customer service skills and able to deal with a diverse group of customers
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Be flexible and willing to change direction and solve issues in a timely manner
  • Strong planning, organization skills and detail oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a very busy environment

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION AND EDUCATION:

  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in heavy-duty equipment industry, with 3-5 years in a supervisor or manager role.
  • Post-secondary education in Heavy Duty trades an asset
  • A valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
Responsibilities
  • Manages the performance of the Service team by leading, training, providing feedback, coaching and administering discipline as appropriate; Addresses employee conflicts or disputes in a timely manner.
  • Manages the Assistant Service Manager to ensure superior customer service in timely fashion; Facilitates communication on all issues regarding service delays with customers and Sales department.
  • Works with Shop Foremen and Lead Hand to create goals and prioritize workflow to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Updates and maintains performance data.
  • Ensures rental equipment is properly maintained and ready for customer use.
  • Creates short and long-term career and skill development goals with Mechanics to enhance productivity and employee morale.
  • Ensures all machine documentation (service records) are kept up to date.
  • Conducts 90-day performance reviews on new staff and annual reviews on the regular staff.
  • Provides ongoing feedback and support to Service team to achieve high levels of performance and cus-tomer service.
  • Ensures employees properly equipped and trained for reaching productivity.
  • Ensures all shops are adequately equipped with specialty tools for proper inspection of equipment.
  • Works closely with Sales/Rental and Dispatch departments to ensure equipment are available for rent.
  • Maintains a thorough and updated knowledge of the equipment and performance capabilities.
  • Keeps clear and open lines of communication with all Service employees.
  • Manages service calls regarding customer-owned equipment. Addresses requests, complaints, and dead-lines.
  • Prepares estimates and invoices for customers.
  • Communicates and coordinates with vendors to ensure all necessary measures are taken to maintain facility equipment such as overhead crane and compressor.
  • Coordinates with the service provider (Kova Engineering) on structural inspections for rental equipment.
  • Monitors and arranges maintenance and repair for the Company’s service vehicle.
  • Receives incoming rental equipment and ensures product information and documents are complete.
  • Reviews and analyzes various reports about the machine and makes appropriate service decisions.
  • Works closely with Health, Safety & Environment Manager to ensure all work activities adhere to the Company policies and WorkSafeBC’s standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
