OVERVIEW
Our client, a family-owned and -operated business that services a wide range of outdoor equipment, is currently seeking a Service Manager to join their team. The company is recognized for its comprehensive capabilities in servicing various equipment types, including chainsaws, excavators, ATVs, UTVs, snowmobiles, and other off-road vehicles.
With the largest fleet of amphibious off-road utility vehicles in the province, they serve a diverse range of industries including mining, exploration, utilities, agriculture, and forestry. In 2016, they became the leading provider of construction and home maintenance equipment rental, sales, and service in West Nipissing.
Reporting directly to the Owner, this role offers a great opportunity to manage a fast-paced service shop - coordinating technicians, managing schedules, and ensuring smooth, efficient operations. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
REQUIREMENTS
· Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the service department
· Serve as the main point of contact for customers; provide updates and manage service expectations
· Dispatch service work and allocate tasks across technician team, collaborate with technicians and provide guidance as needed
· Schedule and coordinate all incoming and ongoing service work
· Maintain detailed and organized service records
· Open and manage work orders from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
· Oversee inventory, shop organization, and overall workflow
· Ensure all work meets company standards and applicable safety guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS
· Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of engines, hydraulics, and off-road/outdoor equipment (e.g., ATVs, snowmobiles, side-by-sides, etc.)
· Previous leadership or service management experience is an asset (training available for the right candidate)
· Highly organized and effective at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
· Excellent communication skills with both team members and customers
· Ability to troubleshoot, delegate, and ensure high-quality service delivery
· Comfortable with work order software and general computer literacy
