Title: Senior ServiceNow Platform Systems Engineer
Location: Canberra, ACT
Start Date: Monday, 11 August 2025
Duration: 12 months (with up to 2 x 12-month extensions)
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline clearance.
Working Arrangement: Full-time onsite at NTT Canberra offices, with potential for flexible arrangements once established in the role
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
Experience Level: Senior (EL1 equivalent)

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript, Glide API, Business Rules).
  • Experience with the HRSD module and Automated Test Framework (ATF).
  • Integration using REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of CMDB and ITIL processes.
  • Performance tuning and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Understanding of ServiceNow security best practices and role-based access control.
  • Familiarity with SQL and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Relevant ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified System Administrator, Application Developer, HRSD) are highly desirable.

ABOUT THE ROLE

NTT Canberra is seeking a highly skilled Senior ServiceNow Platform Systems Engineer to support the migration and ongoing development of the ServiceNow platform, with a focus on the HRSD module, ServiceNow Protected Platform (SPP), and Service Management modules.
This role involves leading platform upgrades, implementing integrations, and ensuring compliance with Essential 8 Maturity Level 2. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-performing, secure, and user-centric ServiceNow solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • System Administration: Expert-level administration, design, development, and configuration of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Design & Development: Customise ServiceNow applications and modules to meet business needs.
  • Implementation: Deploy workflows, integrations, and automation solutions.
  • Platform Maintenance: Manage upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.
  • Workflow Management: Develop and administer workflows and catalogue items.
  • Troubleshooting: Resolve technical issues and ensure platform stability.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Create dashboards and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Training & Support: Provide training and knowledge sharing to internal teams.
  • Security Compliance: Maintain platform security in line with ISM and Essential 8 standards.
  • CMDB & SOPs: Lead CMDB implementation and develop standard operating procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive automation and service enhancements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Provide timely updates and promote platform adoption.
