QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge and experience working in a product packaging environment preferred.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to safely perform heavy lifting and pulling on a continuous basis
  • Must be a team player, have good organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision, and possess a safety-first approach to work.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including overtime and have dependable attendance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standing involved.
  • May repeat the same movement.
  • Often wear safety equipment such as gloves, hair nets, steel toed safety shoes/boots and beard nets.
  • Ability to bend or twist their body.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

The service operator ensures all lines are fully stocked with the required packaging materials in a timely manner. In addition, he/she will wrap pallets of finished goods and apply finish goods labels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Ensure the production line has the required packaging to run the scheduled products.
  • Retrieve the packaging from the warehouse or staging area and bring it to the line.
  • Remove all old packaging from the line, organize it on the pallet and return to the warehouse during changeover.
  • Wrap finished pallets manually with the machine and apply labels as required.
  • Bring empty pallets to the lines ensuring it is the correct type of pallet.
  • Verify it is label is done correctly.
  • Remove garbage and cardboard and food waste from the packing hall.
  • General cleaning of the service area and assisting the changeovers and allergen cleans.
  • Use of pump cart or power walkie (with training).
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
