Job Description Position Purpose: A position of Serviceperson is open for a qualified individual physically able to meet all the requirements necessary for the performance of the duties that his job entails. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Reading meters using reading equipment and manual reads as needed. Investigate high readings and leaks on service. Change out water meters and meter reading equipment. Reopen accounts with the remote meters and box and wire. Read/Replace vault meters as directed. Investigate on complaints stemming from poor flows (flow tests). Set meters on new accounts (initial service). Go out on shut offs. Take and execute verbal (radio, telephone or direct) and written orders. Make concise reports, completely understandable, for all through whose hands such would be cleared. Set and repair meter reading equipment and wiring. Bench test meters for accuracy. Assist in special assignments as directed by Meter Supervisor/Manager. Qualifications Education/Experience/Background: High School Diploma/GED is required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to be contacted by phone and available for emergencies. Ability to learn meter reading equipment. Working knowledge of and ability to use hand tools. Required Certification/Licenses/Training: Possess a valid driver’s license at all times. Physical Requirements: Physically capable of performing manual labor. Additional Information Pay Rate: $39.36 per hour.
