About the role Reporting to the Manager Organisation Planning and Performance, you will lead the City’s Service Review Program.    In simple terms, that means taking a close look at how services are run, what they cost, and how well they meet community needs, then helping the organisation make better decisions about what to improve, change or stop.  You’ll work closely with senior leaders to turn complex information into clear, practical recommendations that influence real decisions. This includes advising the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Councillors on performance, value for money, and long-term sustainability.  You’ll also shape how service reviews are done across the organisation, ensuring a consistent, practical and evidence-based approach that meets legislative requirements and supports the City’s long-term strategy.  Key responsibilities include: * Leading end-to-end reviews of services and programs, from defining the scope through to delivering recommendations.  * Analysing service performance, costs and community needs to assess what is working and what is not.   * Turning complex or incomplete data into clear, defensible insights.   * Working with stakeholders to embed review outcomes into planning, budgeting and decision-making.   * Facilitating discussions with leaders where there are trade-offs, competing priorities and different views.   * Preparing clear, high-quality reports and advice for senior leadership and Council.   * Continuously improving the City’s service review approach, tools and governance.   We want to hear from you if you:  * Have led or played a key role in reviewing services or programs end-to-end, from scoping through to influencing decisions.   * Are confident applying evaluation methods in real-world settings, not just theory.   * Can work with messy or incomplete data and still form clear, evidence-based insights.   * Are comfortable challenging the status quo constructively and influencing senior leaders.   * Enjoy facilitating conversations where there are different perspectives and competing priorities.   * Can translate complex analysis into clear recommendations that people actually act on.   * Are motivated by improving how services are delivered, not just analysing them.   About you You’ll hold a tertiary qualification in public policy, business, economics, commerce or a related field and bring a strong mix of analytical capability, stakeholder engagement skills, and practical experience improving services.
