As a Service Technician, you’ll be at the heart of the action, ensuring every bike, pair of skis, and snowboard that leaves our shop is trail-ready. We are looking for a high-energy enthusiast who loves the gear as much as the sport and wants to share that excitement with our community every single day. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Be the Gear Expert: You’ll be the go-to pro for assembling and maintaining top-tier equipment—from fine-tuning mountain bikes and sharpening hockey skates to prepping skis and custom-fitting golf clubs—ensuring every customer is ready for peak performance. * Deliver Premium Service: Whether you’re explaining the perks of the Scheels Visa Rewards card or servicing a customer's bike, you’ll provide an elite, professional experience that builds lasting relationships. * Master the Technical Details: You will keep the shop running smoothly by maintaining meticulous service records, safely handling specialized tasks like CO2 filling, and solving complex mechanical problems with a sharp, analytical eye. * Champion the Team Atmosphere: You’ll contribute to a high-energy, respectful environment, collaborating with your team to keep the store looking professional while staying flexible to support the shop during weekends, holidays, and peak seasons. At SCHEELS, you aren't just an employee—you’re an owner. * Become an Owner: Join our 100% Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) at no cost to you. You'll start earning ownership after your first year (1,000 hours) and become fully vested in just three years. Continue to build wealth with 401(k) options (eligible after your first quarter). * Comprehensive Health Support: We invest in your wellbeing by paying 75% of your health plan premium, contributing directly to your HSA, and offer a full insurance suite including Dental, Vision, and Accident/Hospital Indemnity. These benefits kick in quickly—starting the first of the month following your first 60 days. * Balance & Support: Enjoy 15 days of PTO (prorated based on your start date) and 6 paid holidays, plus maternity, parental, and bereavement pay. * Best Discount in Retail: Access our "famous" associate discount on the premium brands you love. * Community Impact: Get paid to give back! Beyond monthly paid volunteer time, you’ll receive $500 annually to donate to a charity of your choice. You should be comfortable standing, walking, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 50 lbs. * Education and Experience: High school diploma (or GED) and 1–3 months of related experience are preferred. *Candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
