JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Technical Service Manager – Applied HVAC Solutions/Controls, this role is responsible for technical remote support by phone and Microsoft Teams. Periodic travel within Canada, the USA and sometimes Internationally will be required for on-site commissioning and training for Swegon’s suite of HVAC products for institutional and commercial projects.
This role will appeal to someone who has worked with mechanical and controls contractors previously within the construction sector. The Service Tech Support Representative, together with the Technical Services Manager will be the key points of contact with the Swegon Service Representative network through manufacturers reps and onsite trades for providing outstanding service, support and troubleshooting for Swegon projects across North America.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years’ experience as either a Tech Support or Field Technician
  • Background in Building Controls installations, programming, testing, commissioning and/or service of BMS and DDC systems
  • HVAC Product, Service and Commissioning technical skills in BMS Controls, AHUs, refrigeration, chillers, VRF etc.
  • Education –Community College Technical Degree or Trades Certificate Education (C of Q or Red Seal etc)
  • Experience working with Institutional and Commercial construction sites – For example Universities/Colleges, schools, hotels, office towers etc.
  • Managed a positive working relationship with key stakeholders for onsite construction projects
  • Experience working with general contractors, mechanical contractors, BMS control contractors
  • 25% + travel required, candidate must be able to travel throughout Canada, USA and periodically International travel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be a Factory Representative for site commissioning work for HVAC equipment, including balancing reports and controls integration
  • Providing remote technical support, training and communication utilizing Microsoft Teams. This role offers a hybrid work format (in office and working from home)
  • Handle phone and email requests with customer empathy while assisting with technical investigations in a methodical diagnostic approach
  • Provide service diagnostics assistance for troubleshooting and identifying root cause HVAC issues for commercial and institutional projects remote or in person
  • Will communicate with Swegon factories in North America and Europe, engineering, technical support, and project management teams, the sales organization, direct contractors and customers
  • When onsite with construction projects – deal with various trade stakeholders from mechanical, sheet metal, BMS controls and general contractors
  • Onsite training and development for manufacturer representatives and contractors within their geographic area/region
  • Providing factory training for technicians and contractors involving warranty management for servicing and using Swegon products
