In this role, as a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the successful start-up, commissioning, and continuous field support of Armstrong’s advanced fluid-flow and automation systems. You will work with a wide range of products—including pumps, boosters, control panels, and automation systems—while leveraging modern diagnostic tools, mobile field service management software, and robust safety protocols to deliver exceptional customer service and technical excellence.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A college degree or designation in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Applied Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent technical work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with drives, control panels, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and automation technologies; familiarity with serial communications protocols is an asset.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in field service or a related position.
  • Proven hands-on experience with mechanical pumps and HVAC industry equipment, with the ability to manage both routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Prior exposure to the commercial construction marketplace is desirable, offering insights into large-scale system integrations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and industry-specific software for diagnostics, reporting, and inventory management.
  • Strong comprehension of electrical and mechanical systems, with the ability to interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications.
  • In-depth knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives, Building Automation Controls, pump curves, and thermo-hydraulic principles, along with familiarity in internet and communication protocols essential for modern diagnostic systems.

SOFT SKILLS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clear and effective interactions with clients, colleagues, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Robust problem-solving capabilities, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and upholding Armstrong’s high standards of technical excellence.
