Responsibilities

Reporting to the Industrial Controls Manager, the Service Technician plays a vital role in delivering and maintaining advanced automation systems at customer sites. You will lead installations, commissioning, FAT/SAT testing, and troubleshooting, while providing expert remote and on-site support and training. This contract role offers the opportunity to collaborate with vendors, demonstrate technical expertise, and ensure high-quality service that drives customer success. There may be an opportunity to join the team full-time upon successful completion of the contract.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Travel to customer sites for installations, commissioning, FAT/SAT testing, and troubleshooting of advanced automation systems;
  • Serve as the primary on-call technician, responding promptly to emergency service requests;
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support to assist with system operation, maintenance, and issue resolution;
  • Develop, modify, and optimize PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs tailored to customer needs;
  • Implement and support safety systems, conducting FMEAs to mitigate operational risks;
  • Integrate robotics, motion control, and machine vision systems for precision automation solutions;
  • Configure and fine-tune VFDs and industrial networks to maximize system efficiency and uptime;
  • Document system configurations and site activities clearly for internal teams and customers;
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, recommending enhancements that improve performance and scalability.
