Service Technician (Bilingual) Department: Operations Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Mozambique Reporting To: After Sales Manager - ESA Description Location: Nampula About the role: Sun King is seeking a hands-on, technically skilled service technician to be vital to our after-sales service in Mozambique. You will be the expert on the front lines, ensuring that every product returned to us is diagnosed, repaired, or refurbished to the highest quality standards. Your work will directly impact customer satisfaction and reliance in the Sun King brand. This role is perfect for a problem-solver passionate about technology, quality, and providing real solutions to our customers. What you will be expected to do: Product Diagnosis & Repair: Expertly diagnose faults and perform repairs on a wide range of returned Sun King solar products (lamps, home systems, etc.). Accurately document the root cause of failures and repair actions taken for data analysis and reporting. Refurbishment Centre Support: Work within the refurbishment centre to restore products to like-new condition, following standard operating procedures. Efficiently manage the workflow of faulty units, ensuring a swift turnaround from intake to quality-checked, ready-to-use product. Quality Control: Conduct Incoming Quality Control (IQC) checks on returned products to assess their condition. Perform Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) checks on all repaired and refurbished units before redeployment to guarantee they meet Sun King's strict performance and safety standards. Technical Support & Training: Provide direct technical care to customers, helping to troubleshoot issues over the phone or in person. Assist the After-Sales team in training internal staff, such as Sales Agents and Energy Officers, on basic product troubleshooting and maintenance best practices. Spare Parts & Inventory Management: Assist the management of spare parts inventory at the service centre, ensuring critical components are available for repairs. Report on spare parts usage and stock levels to the After-Sales Manager. Any other business as assigned by your supervisor. You might be a strong candidate if you have: Top marks at a top 5 Regional or globally recognised University with a Diploma or degree in engineering or other relevant disciplines. An advanced degree is welcome. 2+ years of experience in a technical repair role, preferably with electronic consumer goods, mobile phones, or renewable energy products. Strong practical skills in soldering, component-level repair, and using multimeters and other diagnostic tools. Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distil information and comprehend how to communicate to different audiences to get results. Passionate about customer service and resolving their issues. The ability to maintain calm under pressure. Efficiency and organizational skills.
