Description In business since 1966, we service Blue Bird Buses as well as Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit, Cummins, CAT, Eaton, Meritor, Allison and DT12 trucks. Summary: Experienced mechanic. Performs diagnoses and troubleshooting of most vehicle issues with some supervision. Completes jobs within a given time frame and maintains a 75% return-free work record. Previously worked as an Apprentice-level technician, has at least 2 years of experience and holds at least 1 certification. Truck Mechanic (Diesel) Responsibilities: Diagnose, repair & maintain diesel and gasoline engine industrial trucks and buses Document repairs using fleet maintenance software Conduct road tests as required or refer to test technician Participate in Company paid training and stay abreast of manufacturer-provided technical updates Maintain dealership-owned tools and manuals Comply with Federal, State & local regs (hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.) Requirements Truck Mechanic (Diesel) Qualifications: Successful candidates will be or possess: UTI/Lincoln Tech/Pennco Tech(or similar) Certification and a minimum of 2 years’ related experience, including work as an Apprentice-level technician. Experience and certifications may be substituted for formal program certification. Computerized diagnostic skills 21+ years' old (for auto insurance purposes) & able to lift 100 lbs. Valid/clean driver's license Willing/able to obtain certifications (Company paid training) Preferred candidates will also be or possess: Experience specific to above noted vehicles Certifications for any of the above noted vehicles DOT Medical Cert Compensation Range Disclosure In compliance with New Jersey’s pay transparency regulations, we are disclosing the compensation range for this position. The base hourly wage for Tech C is $23-$29 an hour depending on factors such as schooling, experience, certifications and specific responsibilities. Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, certifications and internal equity considerations. Responsibilities
