Service Technician - Locomotive Maintenance Location: Nebo, Regional QLD Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Roster: 7/7 rotating roster (Days, Afternoons, Nights - 11.5-hour shifts) Rate of Pay: In accordance with our EA About the Role Join UGL at our Locomotive Maintenance Facility in Nebo, where we are looking for experienced Service Technicians to perform complex mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting on locomotives and rolling stock. This is a fantastic opportunity for those seeking a permanent role in a dynamic and technically challenging environment. Key Responsibilities: · Perform scheduled maintenance on locomotives and rolling stock. · Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensuring safety and efficiency. · Verify the integrity of the rolling stock and perform emergency response duties when needed. · Conduct inbound and outbound testing procedures. · Requisition materials and components for maintenance activities. · Report future maintenance work and potential improvements. · Assist the Fleet Supervisor with any additional tasks as required. About You: · Mechanical Trade qualified, with hands-on experience in a related field. · Proven ability to resolve complex mechanical, warranty, and maintenance issues. · Previous experience working with diesel engines, particularly in a rail or heavy machinery environment. · Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM) lists. · Capable of working independently, managing time effectively, and prioritizing multiple tasks. · Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, and email.
