A successful candidate will have the following skills

• Proficiency in using hand tools
• Familiar with computer programming and software
• Previous service technician experience
• Mechanical/technical aptitude with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience with voltmeters, dial calipers, DC power supplies
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate professionally.
• Orbital welding experience is a bonus!

Position Primary Functions

Operational

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, calibrate, and maintain various types of welding equipment with electronic and/or mechanical issues
• Maintain complete and accurate records of repair activities
• Complete repairs in a timely manner to maintain a proficiency level at or above 100%
• Maintain shop and bench equipment/supplies. Communicate concerns or workbench needs to Service Coordinator.
• Strive to develop the skills necessary to service all MIT product offerings.

Technical Support

• Collaborate within a team and perform tasks independently
• Use proper methods to ensure information is communicated with accuracy and completeness.
• Provide input for process improvements and ensure all processes are followed.

General:

• Demonstrate safe work habits
• Help maintain cleanliness, neatness and safety of shop
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Seek improvement opportunities within and without area of primary responsibility
• Support and assistance in other areas as needed

A competitive rate of pay in this role will be evaluated upon knowledge and ability after 90 days.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
