Privateers Harley-Davidson in Halifax, Nova Scotia is an authorized dealer of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and products. We currently have an opening in our Service Department for a Service Technician. We are looking for someone who loves this living and lifestyle (because we do!).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Red Seal Motorcycle Mechanic/Technician Certification required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - pleasant, positive and friendly personality.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing a high level of customer service.
  • Possess a valid NS Driver’s License and can operate standard transmission vehicles.
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks.
  • Ability to work efficiently under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
  • Experience considered an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Efficiently complete scheduled maintenance as outlined in product service manuals.
  • Change & balance tires.
  • Install and service factory/aftermarket accessories.
  • Conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customer’s problems and provide accurate repair recommendations.
  • Conduct necessary repairs. If required, take vehicle on approved test ride on approved route to diagnose or confirm repairs.
  • Maintain legible and accurate paperwork/notes for both the customer and for company records.
  • Complete work accurately and within the scheduled time period. Coordinate scheduled breaks with Service Manager allowing flexibility for daily tasks and timings.
  • Documents any other vehicle problems that were noted during servicing and identify other opportunities for work.
  • Should be capable of working independently and utilizing effective time management.
  • Maintain clean work environment and daily clean-up of work space.
  • Clean motorcycles prior to returning to customer, as required.
  • Complete online and instructor lead training, as required.
  • Repair shop equipment/tools/minor repairs & maintenance to company vehicles/company trailers/company equipment as required.
  • Other related duties, as required.
