Description The service technician will repair, maintain, and facilitate installation and service loading dock equipment, industrial doors and specialty lifts operations according to plans, blueprints or drawings. This position requires driving to customer sites in a company truck and maintaining an organized work environment. Technician Job Responsibilities: Uses hand tools, hoists, jacks, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb bobs, and power tools to assemble, install, align, and adjust equipment. Ensures equipment perform to specifications by conducting tests; modifies and fine tunes equipment. Service and maintain equipment per specification. Disassembles or dismantles equipment. Be punctual. Answer requests and concerns about product and service. Plans and facilitates installation and repair of new or refurbished machinery. Conducts safety inspections of equipment. Red Tag equipment that is deemed subpar. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Skills/Abilities: Ability to work with mechanical and electrical components. Basic understanding of how and why electrical, mechanical, hydraulic systems work independently or with each other. Basic understanding of why and how a part failed, and how to replace it or repair it. Thorough and broad understanding of a variety of equipment and equipment. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Education and Experience: High school diploma or high school equivalent required; vocational school or associate’s degree in related field highly preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods standing, stretching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time. Visual acuity to properly inspect and modify large and detailed portions of equipment. Manual dexterity to assemble, disassemble, adjust, service and perform planned maintenance on equipment.
