JOB OVERVIEW

The Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of security systems including CCTV, alarm systems, access control and intercoms. They ensure all systems are functioning optimally and provide technical support to customers on-site.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related technical field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Service Technician or Installer in security systems or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of CCTV, alarm systems, access control, and intercom systems installation and troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of networking and IP configuration is a plus.
  • Good problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and work flexible hours if required.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record (if driving company vehicles).
  • Physically fit to handle equipment installation and maintenance work.
  • Valid Class 3 driver’s license for site visits and travel.
Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, test and commission security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control, intercoms) according to company standards and customer requirements.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance and system inspections to ensure system reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical faults on-site efficiently and professionally.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers on the operation of security equipment.
  • Liaise with the Service & Installation Manager and Technical Support team to coordinate service schedules and respond promptly to service requests.
  • Maintain accurate service reports, installation records and job documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all service activities.
  • Manage tools, equipment and inventory related to service tasks.
  • Assist in recommending system upgrades or replacements to customers when necessary.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training to stay updated with the latest security technologies.
