Description Location: La Vergne, TN Job Title: Service Technician FLSA Status: Hourly – Non-Exempt Job Summary: SFX is seeking an experienced Onsite Service Technician to provide dedicated technical support at our Nashville location. This role is responsible for the ongoing maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of high-volume Bluecrest mailing equipment, specifically the MSE and Rival. The technician will perform routine preventative maintenance, execute system upgrades and installations, and respond to equipment issues in real time. Collaboration with internal technical teams is expected to ensure timely resolution of complex problems and to deliver service that meets or exceeds performance standards. Supervisory Responsibilities 2 plus years experience Duties/Responsibilities: · Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate cause of trouble. · Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. · Repairs or replaces defective parts on equipment. ·Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance. · Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. · Lubricates and cleans parts. · Keeps on-going list of miscellaneous maintenance that needs to be completed. · Sets up and operates equipment and tools to make and repair parts. · Uses and reads volt meter, tape measure, and dial calipers. · Uses computer to log repairs. · Activates devices to test their performance after making repairs. · Inspects used parts to determine if they can be rebuilt. · Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. · Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. · Checks and rechecks any work before putting machine back online. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or maintenance manager. Must be able to be on-call, work overtime, weekends, and holidays, when necessary (some with short notice). Strong mechanical aptitude. Minimum of 2 years of experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electro-mechanical systems in a customer-facing environment. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic systems, including the use of diagnostic tools and schematics. Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, service-oriented setting. Valid driver's license. Ability to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Proficient in basic computer operations, including the use of service software, reporting tools, and mobile devices. Preferred Qualifications 4+ years of hands-on experience servicing high-volume printing, mailing, or similar industrial equipment. Familiarity with Bluecrest/Pitney Bowes experience preferred Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, motors, and other automation components. Experience working in a client-embedded or field service role with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and/or alternate shifts with minimal notice. OEM certifications or technical training in relevant equipment or systems is a plus. Must have use of reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required 5-7 years’ experience as a mechanic, highly preferred. Physical Requirements -Prolonged periods standing and walking. -Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. -Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Safety: Support workplace safety and abide by OSHA policies, procedures, and instructions.
