Since our incorporation in 1978, Stor-it Systems Ltd. has grown as a family-owned and operated business to become Atlantic Canada’s largest independently owned material handling, industrial, and storage equipment consultant/provider. With sales representatives and service technicians covering all four Atlantic Provinces, we specialize in selling, maintaining, and repairing loading dock equipment, storage racking, lockers, and various storage solutions. Our goal is to enhance our customers’ valuable storage space while creating a more efficient, productive, and safer workplace.
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Service Technician/Installer to join our growing team.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Service Department Manager, the Service Technician/Installer will be responsible for installing and servicing material handling and industrial equipment. This includes planned preventative maintenance and service inspections, with a particular focus on loading docks, sectional doors, and high-speed doors. Work may involve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs. We provide extensive virtual and hands-on training to ensure a comprehensive understanding of our customers’ needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in an industrial environment is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience with electrical, diesel, hydraulic, and heavy-duty equipment is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Good analytical skills to diagnose electrical/mechanical problems with minimal supervision.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with customers professionally.
  • Ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.
  • Capable of managing multiple jobs simultaneously.
  • Ability to complete job-related paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook is an asset.
  • Some travel throughout the Maritime provinces is required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Secondary School Diploma (Required).
  • Equivalent experience in a related field will also be considered.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair service equipment, including loading dock equipment, overhead doors, high-speed doors, and conveyor systems.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance work.
  • Manage parts inventory in work vans and proactively stock parts for regular clients.
  • Maintain customer equipment in a cost-effective manner.
  • Respond to client service requests as assigned by the service dispatcher.
  • Assess and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Track travel time and job site hours using our third-party service app.
  • Complete work orders and obtain client sign-off upon job completion.
  • Adhere to company occupational health and safety guidelines.
  • Assist in quarterly and annual inventory counts.
