Job Description Summary MES is seeking a Suppression Service Technician that is responsible for inspecting, servicing, maintaining, and repairing portable fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems. Roles and Responsibilities: Performs routine and complex maintenance and repairs on various portable fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems. Dismantles extinguishers and examines tubing, and other parts for defects and replaces worn or damaged parts. Cleans and recharges extinguishers with materials such a patented solutions. Tests fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems: Inspects, repairs, and/or replaces. Inspects extinguishers for compliance with legal specifications using hand tools and performing hydrostatic tests. Install fire extinguishers in new or renovated facilities. Monitors inventory and initiates requests for supplies, materials, and equipment. Tags fire extinguishing equipment to certify equipment has been properly inspected and operational. Installs, inspects, and services Kitchen Suppression Systems. Responsible for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Conforms to safety standards as prescribed. Performs other duties as assigned.
