What does a Service Technician do?
The Service Technician plays a key role in ensuring our customers’ satisfaction by providing timely equipment service such as installations, diagnostics, emergency repairs, planned maintenance, pre-and post-delivery inspections, training, and answering general how-to questions. Swish Service Technicians are trained and trusted by major manufacturers to perform warranty-approved repairs and maintenance on the equipment that keeps Canada clean.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining, diagnosing, and servicing commercial cleaning equipment such as commercial dish washers, laundry machines, food processing units, power washers, floor scrubbers, and small engines in both the workshop and on customer property
  • Maintain an inventory of replacement parts and equipment
  • Care, maintenance, and stocking of the service van
  • Efficient management and completion of scheduled service calls based on established procedures
  • Assist the Sales and Management teams with equipment demonstrations and rentals
  • Keep accurate records of billable hours spent on in-house or on-site service calls
  • Reduce customer down time by selling Planned Maintenance Agreements
  • May be required to perform after hours’/weekend emergency repairs

What do you need?

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract and valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to read and understand product manuals, diagrams, and schematics
  • Strong organizational skills and clerical abilities for the maintenance of parts inventory
  • Strong computer skills in order to log calls, billable hours, and place orders for parts
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate with customers, staff, and suppliers in a pleasant and professional manner
  • Acquired technical or mechanical knowledge or aptitude, such as experience working with plumbing, electronics, appliances, small engines, or automotive repair would be an asset
  • Willingness to learn new skills from our experienced team
  • Availability to work Monday - Friday, and be on call every other weekend
