Description
The Service Technician I executes the setup, installation, and repair of electronic communication and surveillance systems for remote and field-based sites. This position provides field support for technology products such as communications and networked surveillance equipment. It requires hands-on technical skills, strong troubleshooting ability, and a customer-first attitude.   Key Responsibilities: * Install, configure, and repair communication systems. Including: mobile cellular communications equipment, wireless network products, and satellite equipment (e.g., PBX, modems, routers, satellite terminals, and hard-wired connections). * Support maintenance and repair of surveillance systems including IP cameras, NVRs, and supporting powered components. * Configure and troubleshoot network, telephony, and satellite terminal-related systems. * Perform routine maintenance and system checks; complete field retrofits and upgrades. * Communicate job progress and issues to customers, project managers, and management. * Crosstrain and collaborate with additional field operations as required.   Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Knowledge of basic networking concepts and low-voltage systems. * Familiarity with various Video Management Systems (VMS) and IP-based cameras. * Ability to work independently or with minimal remote guidance. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Excellent attention to detail and strong customer service orientation. * Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. * Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. * Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and travel as needed.   Preferred Qualifications: * Training from a two-year vocational or technical program or equivalent field experience. * 1–2 years of experience in surveillance, communications, or related low-voltage installation work.
