Introduction
DHL Aviation Schiphol is a unique location with a critical role in the aviation and aerospace industry. Efficiency is key in this sector and every minute counts. As part of the site-based team, you are close to the action, handling dynamic tasks ranging from preventive and corrective maintenance to conveyor inspections, troubleshooting, and breakdowns. You play a vital role as the first point of contact when issues arise, ensuring smooth operations in a sector where downtime must be minimized.
What will you be doing
As a (senior) service technician, you will ensure that within your shift daily duties/ activities are carried out in a safe and effective manner, minimizing the impact on the customer’s operations. This position is hands-on and is carried out in a 16/5 shift system within a team of three technicians. You will work on electrical, mechanical, and control systems which involve the installation, modification, maintenance, and repairs. Furthermore, within the position you will be the single point of contact for our customer DHL and the Vanderlande Global Service desk during all technical malfunctions and escalations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision on HSE-related topics and agreements.
  • Ensuring our various installations are in good condition.
  • Solving mechanical, electromechanical, and control malfunctions.
  • Attend shift handovers to other shift(s) and customers.
  • Be the single point of contact for the customer and Vanderlande Global Service Desk for all operational and technical issues during the shift.
  • Initiate and implement improvements to the technical development of the team, system, and processes.
  • Follow up on the escalation models/ procedures in case Management involvement is needed.
  • Coordinate all activities during the shift to ensure the (on time) completion of all corrective and preventative maintenance tasks as planned by the Maintenance coordinator and unplanned operational activities.
  • Keeping track of CMMS DOS Maximo, and updating the administration if needed to ensure correct completion before the end of the shift.
  • Act as a major contributor to process and system improvements to improve service levels, methodologies, and system processes.

Your Profile

You are someone with good/ clear communication skills who dares to make technical decisions. You can take a coordinating role in which you take initiative, want to build a team spirit and create a safe work environment within the team.

  • Minimum technical MBO 4 completed or comparable work experience in the technical sector.
  • At least 3 years of experience with electrical and mechanical maintenance work in the field.
  • Experience in finding and solving system errors and affinity with controls.
  • Good command of the English and/ or Dutch Language
  • You are excited to train and guide other colleagues.
  • You have an enthusiastic and proactive attitude, and you are flexible.
  • You are willing to follow courses and training.

What we offer
This position offers a competitive salary range of € 3.116 to € 4.185 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
