JOB DESCRIPTION:

Barney Trucking, a leader in specialized transportation for over 75 years, continues to expand. We are currently seeking a Service Writer for our corporate office in St. George. The position offers $60k + annual salary depending on experience and operates from:
Monday to Friday
8AM - 5PM
Occasionally On call (weekend-approximately every 10 weeks.)

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduation from High School or GED equivalent and specialized training in mechanics, maintenance management, or a closely related field; or any combination of education and experience
• Knowledge pertaining to the maintenance and diagnostics of heavy-duty truck and trailer system - experience with belly/end dumps, pneumatics, and chemical tanks, preferred
• Ability to professionally interact with drivers and vendors in a positive manner
• Basic proficiency with computer systems (word, excel, etc.). Experience with Transman (TMT) software is a plus
• Effective verbal and written skills
• Ability to occasionally lift upwards of 50 lbs.

• Facilitate the efficient flow of equipment through Barney and vendor facilities (breakdowns, preventative maintenance, etc.)
• Generate in-house and vendor RO’s - utilize shop and PM planner to facilitate workflow - assign jobs to technicians with the goal of maximizing productivity and throughput times. Ensure technicians meet/exceed industry standards related to SRT times, etc.
• Maintain vendor accountability related to labor/parts cost, estimates, throughput, etc.
• Assist parts department in maintaining accurate inventory
• Assist drivers with roadside repairs, tows, etc.
• Work with PM Manager and operational groups to manage prioritization of jobs
