Description

Northland Fleet Services, a member of LaPrairie Group of Companies, provides full turnkey fleet management services, for light-duty vehicles and heavy-duty equipment, to customers throughout northern British Columbia.
Northland Fleet Services, located in Tumbler Ridge, BC, is looking for a Service Writer.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION:

  • Experience with light duty/on-road equipment.
  • Prior Service Writing experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of internal systems such as engines, hydraulics, HVAC, and electrical components.
  • Excellent computer literacy.
  • Strong organizational, multitask and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, supervisors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail in documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Able to work independently and in team environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Create and manage work orders and purchase orders for maintenance and repairs on customer and internal units.
  • Coordinate with technicians to prioritize tasks based on operational needs and unit availability.
  • Track and document service history, parts usage, and labor hours for each unit.
  • Communicate and manage with customers regarding repair process, unit status, estimated completion times, and service impacts.
  • Monitor parts inventory and initiate/manage orders as needed to support scheduled work.
  • Maintain organization of parts room and storage areas
  • Conduct physical inventory counts.
  • Communicate with customer’s fleet management companies on approval for repairs and repair order status.
  • Ensure all shop supplies are adequately stocked.
  • Perform other duties as required.
